In order to achieve sustainable development and green growth, the Government of Laos strives to attract more private investments into the country considering the significant role of private investment in bring capital, new technology, innovation, know-how to the country and ability to access to the bigger markets. In accordance with the Law on Investment Promotion, 2016, the Prime Minister issued a Decree on Implementation of the Committee for Investment Promotion and Management, No. 05/PM, dated 05 January 2018 and established the One-Stop Service at the Ministry of Planning and Investment in August, 2018, to enhance business environment and competitiveness to attract more quality investment in Lao PDR through with rapid and transparent business procedure. The One-Stop Service provides comprehensive services for investors such as providing investment related information, facilitate investment application and approval process, issue investment licensing and various investment related notices.

Thus, this website is to provide guidance for investors and government officials to acknowledge and fully understand regulations and rules regarding investment process in Lao PDR.

The creation of the Investment Promotion Department’s website is another key milestone in the promulgation of the work carried out by Investment Promotion as well as platform to provide information for the general society, students, investors, development partners and others.
