The Director General of the Investment Promotion and Management Committee presented the investment opportunities in Laos at the Russia-Laos Business Forum on September 4, 2025, in Vladivostok, Russia.

During of His Excellency Sonexay SIPHANDONE, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR attending the 10th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia by the official invitation of President Vladimir Putin from 3-6 September 2025, the Investment Promotion and Management Committee, the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Department of Economy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) together with the Russian government and business sectors held the Laos-Russia Business Forum at 17:00 on 4 September 2025 at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), in Vladivostok, Russia, with the full participation of senior leaders and business sides from Laos-Russia.

The meeting was kindly welcomed by Mr Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, and addressed by His Excellency Sonexay SIPHANDONE, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR. Stated that: today’s meeting is an affirmation of solid ties and friendship between our 2 nations and is considered as one of the significant activities in economic, trade, investment, and tourism cooperation to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao-Russian diplomatic copulation.

Within this occasion, Dr. Vanthana NOLINTHA, Director General of the Investment Promotion and Management Committee, was honored to present investment opportunities in the Lao PDR, which deeply provided Russian business with an in-depth examine the current investment situation in Laos and the role of trade-investment and connectivity in the Lao PDR through the increasingly convenient of the Lao-China Railway, which can further enhance regional and international congruence and integration policies.

Can be seen that Russian investors have strong potential across many sectors in the Lao PDR, including clean agriculture, clean energy, sustainable mineral extraction, modern manufacturing, transportation and logistics, tourism, and others. Since 1989, Russian investors have invested in concessions and controlling Lists across all sectors of the Russian economy. Russia has 24 projects, with a total investment value of over 52 million US dollars, and ranks 22nd in 2025.
