ອີງຕາມດຳລັດນາຍົກລັດຖະມົນຕິ ເລກທີ 201/ນຍ, ລົງວັນທີ 30 ມິຖຸນາ 2017, ກະຊວງແຜນການ ແລະ ການລົງທຶນ (ກຜທ) ພາສາອັງກິດ Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) ແມ່ນກົງຈັກໜຶ່ງຂອງລັດຖະບານ, ມີພາລະບົດບາດເປັນເສນາທິການໃຫ້ລັດຖະບານ ໃນການຄຸ້ມຄອງມະຫາພາກກ່ຽວກັບວຽກງານແຜນການ ແລະ ການລົງທຶນ, ຄົ້ນຄວ້າຍຸດທະສາດ, ສ້າງແຜນ ແລະ ຈັດຕັ້ງປະຕິບັດແຜນພັດທະນາເສດຖະກິດ-ສັງຄົມແຫ່ງຊາດ, ສ້າງກົນໄກ ແລະ ນະໂຍບາຍ ທີ່ຕິດພັນກັບການຄຸ້ມຄອງເສດຖະກິດ, ວຽກງານສະຖິຕິ, ສົ່ງເສີມ ແລະ ຄຸ້ມຄອງການລົງທຶນພາກເອກະຊົນ ພາຍໃນ ແລະ ຕ່າງປະເທດ ແລະ ເຂດເສດຖະກິດພິເສດ-ສະເພາະ ໃນ ສປປ ລາວ, ດຶງດູດ ແລະ ຍາດແຍ່ງການຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອ (ODA)  ແລະ ການຮ່ວມມືກັບສາກົນ.

It consists of Deputy Ministers, Director-General and Deputy Director General, Chief-Vice Chief of Section andtechnical officersfrom concerned ministries appointed by the Prime Minister. The Chair of the central CIP is the Minister of Planning and Investment and the Vice Chair is the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment who supervises investment work.
